400,000 American lives lost to COVID-19. Remembering is necessary to heal.
Just as my 5 yr old self sang, "Let there be peace on earth & let it begin w/ me," my spirit sings this on #InaugurationDay, hopeful for change, hope that triumphs over fear. Hallelujah!
Young people see the hypocrisy of the Church & as a result, we're losing the generation that is supposed to keep the Church going. I'm diving into #reconciliation4real for a FB live broadcast Thurs Jan 21st 4pm PST on @UYWI FB page.
As we celebrate the legacy of Rev Dr. MLK Jr. we must accept the whole of his narrative. He was nurtured by the Black church! Let's reclaim that! Join @seattlequest this Sun for our 1st Black-led service & I'm preaching! FB live 10am PST:
Only in America, can a mob of violent armed white men storm the Capitol unharmed while an unarmed Black man in need of mental health care is murdered.
This is why we say #BlackLivesMatter. No Black person is exempt from this kind of violence!
Those cries for unity w/o accountability are empty. Accountability is part of the #reconciliation4real process! What we mean by unity & reconciliation are two different things. You cannot have real reconciliation without truth-telling & repentance!
My greatest desire for my social media platforms is to create a safe space for folks interested in reconciliation to be inspired, equipped w/ resources & connect w/ other reconcilers. Visit my FB page for more on my #codeofconduct @drbrendasaltermcneil
